    • Bradford participated in team drills during...

Bradford participated in team drills during mandatory minicamp last week, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis: Bradford took the next step in the plan aimed at keeping his health intact during the offseason program. The Cardinals conjured the schedule after the oft-injured quarterback was limited to two appearances in 2017 due to complications with his left knee, which underwent surgery Nov. 7. Between the conclusion of minicamp and the start of training camp, Bradford will continue to build up his strength and conditioning, at which point he expects to "be ready" July 28. Despite the presence of 2018 first-round pick Josh Rosen, Bradford is favored to land the starting QB gig by Week 1.

    • Kirksey's new teammate Mychal Kendricks (ankle)...

Kirksey's new teammate Mychal Kendricks (ankle) will focus on the weakside linebacker position in Cleveland's 4-3 base defense, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Analysis: The Browns have a logjam at linebacker after adding Kendricks to a group that returns each of its three starters from last season. Despite piling up 286 tackles and six sacks the past two years, Kirksey no longer seems assured of a three-down role. It does help that he has experience playing in the middle, though he primarily operated as a weakside 'backer last year. Kendricks may end up taking snaps from Joe Schobert and/or Jamie Collins (knee) rather than Kirksey, but it will be hard to get a read on the situation until August or even September.

    • Lee will be the primary play...

Lee will be the primary play caller on defense this season, Manish Mehta of the NY Daily News reports.

Analysis: The Jets signed Avery Williamson to replace Demario Davis as the "mike" inside linebacker in their 3-4 defense, but Lee likely will retain a three-down role while handling play calling from the "mo" spot. The 2016 first-round pick played 1,028 defensive snaps last season, notching 94 tackles (67 solo), three sacks and two forced fumbles in 15 games. Davis led the team in both tackles (135) and sacks (five), with his 1,118 defensive snaps ranking first in the entire league.

    • Foreman (Achilles) appears unlikely to be...

Foreman (Achilles) appears unlikely to be a full participant for the start of training camp, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Analysis: Foreman, who underwent surgery to repair a torn left Achilles tendon in November of 2017. is encouraged by the results of the rehabilitation work and progress he's made since the surgery, but also understands Achilles' injuries can be difficult to come back from. "They told me when it happened that it will be a long process," Foreman said. "It's been tough. You have your long days and you have your days where you feel like, 'Man, you hear all the statistics about the injury and what might be,' but my faith is really high and so is the trainers and strength and conditioning staff." The Texans feel he'll play this season, but nobody is committing to a timetable.

    • Edmonds received reps with the first-team...

Edmonds received reps with the first-team offense during mandatory minicamp this week, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Analysis: Extenuating circumstances precipitated Edmonds' elevation to such work, as David Johnson opted to skip minicamp as he seeks a contract extension. No matter, Edmonds' burst and quickness have been on display since he was selected in the fourth round of this year's draft, making him perhaps the top candidate to serve as Johnson's backup in 2018. Edmonds' collegiate resume at Fordham -- 153.8 yards from scrimmage per game and an FCS-record 74 touchdowns in 44 contests -- indicates that he'll be able to produce if called upon in the fall.
